Round and Round

‘Do I contradict myself? Very well then I contradict myself. I am large, I contain multitudes.’ – Walt Whitman

These works (initally inspired by social distancing circles in parks) celebrate the complexity and diversity of an entangled world. Acknowledging each person as inextricably bound up in a multitude of subjectivities, Chris attempts a visual expression of connections (and disconnections) between the individual and the universal. Multiple interrelated forms and layers convey a simultaneous sense of isolation and unanimity, whilst recurring circular motifs reference the cyclical nature of life and death.
