Chris Bilby is an Australian visual artist living and working in Melbourne, Australia. His practice incorporates drawing, painting, digital printmaking, and collage. A graphic approach is evident in his work which contemplates themes such as history, memory, transience, identity, connection, and hope. Having recently lived in China for three years, his latest exhibition – The Spacious Palaces of Memory – focused on the intersection of personal and collective narratives across divergent cultures and explored the role of the grid and the archive. Bilby holds a Master of Fine Arts from RMIT University and his work is in private collections in Australia, Asia, USA, UK, and Europe.
